"Komus" is a musical instrument, which was born in the Altay Mountains. It is the oldest self-sounding made of reeded musical instrument, is famous among many nations of the world. It was considered to be distillatory musical instrument for a long time. It was used for mental practice, for relation with astral worlds and for entering the ecstatic state.
Arne, Thomas Augustine - is a British composer. He was known as a composer of Rule Brittannia (1740). He also composed songs, operas, keyboard music, and oratorios. Masques:Comus (1738),The Judgment of Paris (1740).
COMUS - is a British group of the end of 60-th. In 1968 they took part in London's Purcell Rooms show. David Bowie was a director of this show. This show became a start point of the roud to the top of success and fame. They released two albums - First Utterance (1971) and To Keep From Crying - (1974).

COMUS (Komos) The god of banquets and festivity, he was the son of Hermes and Circe. Komos could change the faces of men to beast in the festivities.
Komus in literature
John Milton (1608-74) one of the greatest poets and polemicists of England whose name is connected with English history of the 17 century, his best monumental work was Paradise Lost (1667 and 1674) which marks the apogee of the poet` s religious and political convictions. However, Milton`s earlier poems such as On the Morning of Christ` s Nativity, LAllegro, Il Penseroso, Lycidas Comushad already marked him for greatness. Christian religious epic Paradise Lost, where John Milton also mentioned a lot of numbers of political pamphlets and prose works. His Puritan beliefs and outspoken political views resulted in his imprisonment shortly after the Restoration. Milton went blind in his later years, and dictated many of his most famous works to friends and relatives.
